Buying wheels and tyres
- Check the tyre size, load and speed index and the four-digit manufacture date (week and year) on the sidewall.
- Measure tread depth; look for sidewall cracks, repairs and uneven wear.
- Compare the wheel bolt pattern (PCD), offset and centre bore with your vehicle; ask for a balance test for distortion.
